Default MAF sensor

So, I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen.... But, I unplugged my MAF sensor and seems like I gained horse power! Not sure if it's supposed to do that, but there's no backfire, hesitation or anything. I have a 3" intake with k&n and throttle body spacer. Maybe the MAF is calibrated for the restricted box and putting an intake on and unplugging it freed it up some. A little confused, and really surprised with the gain! You think this could eventually damage my engine? Everything seems to be working better than before!

If i'm not mistaken, when the CEL comes on, the computer goes to a default program. So if the light is on for the EGR, I wouldn't think it would make any difference on the MAF.

But if he fixes the EGR valve i am almost positive the CEL will then come on for the MAF being removed.

So, I went ahead and plugged the MAF back in. I started burning too much gas. I'll just keep it right.

The egr valves rarely fo bad. you can clean them out. it is probably your DPFE sensor. also the oil form the KN filters can mess the maf so you need to clean the maf..........around where i live I would never pass inspection. I would have to fix it. also if you do fix or clean anyting reboot the ecu

Cool man! Thanks! And.... What's the best way to clean the MAF? Probably brake clean for the EGR. But I've never heard of anything to use to clean the MAF.
