Turbo 3.0L

I am interested in a 3L turbo set up.
Has anyone done this to your own vehicle or possibly helped a friend out?
Tips if you have them.

what about morana v6 racing? any words on them.

Well... I will start with small things. like the Electric fan
I have been reading about converting to electric fan to free up some ponies.
I am going to do the conversion early October using a fan and shroud from a 3.8 taurus.
what all will I need?
Or any tips would be great...

you will need an electric fan....

but in all seriousness you could buy the flex-a-lite black magic fan, it has everything you need to make it work with your radiator. you just bolt the fan to the shroud mounting holes, splice some wires, and set the t-stat. easy as pie. you can also throw in a manual on/off switch if you feel a little adventurous.

Wow. the kit makes it look toooo easy. are the performance gains significant, more importantly MPG's.
I live in Los Angeles and my 04 2wd ranger edge 3.0l sitting on 31's is my daily driver.
So far I cut open my stock intake box and replaced the airfilter with a K&N drop in filter, turned my torsion for 1.25" of lift up front and a 2" hitch
oh by the way I am approching 100,000 miles on my BFG AT's =)

thats a lot of miles. ya the electric fan is pretty easy, good gains also, but i would swap in some u/d pulleys from underdog performance while your at it. i did on my 3.0L and i am seeing around 2 mpg gain, plus 8 hp, but i cant really tell that when im driving

The kit looks great black magic fan. But, Would I go with the 2800 CFM or something with less CFM

2800 cfm would be fine, the kit thats made for the 3.0L is the one thats $212.00, 2800 seems to be about right.

What companies make turbo kits specifically for the ranger 3L? And how much power do you gain from a turbo on a stock engine?

There aint none, you'd have to use a custom application. I aint to sure about the performance of STS Turbo kits, but I would rebuild the engine from the ground up before bolting them on though.

depending on you mods 2800 cfm might not be enough.. i called Flex-a-lite and the told me i needed a 3100+ cfm fan. plus don't go with the radiator probe set up. you will over heat. it doesn't read temps accurately. not only that an e-fan doesn't give you anymore power. it will only give you 1-2 mpg more. that is what i was told by flex-a-lite.

btw if you go turbo on your truck you won't need an e-fan. i have turbo on my truck and i still have my stock fan.

my kit is 100% custom. i have a build thread on RPS. i had a friend of mine reflash my ECU.

if you go to RPS my sn is The_New_Guy and it is under turbo build. if you don't want to do that i have videos of it on you tube. check out Carefullysleek on youtube.
