Exclamation Engine/ Transmission Replacement

Sooo the truck ive owned for two months now decided to blow a rod. I think the odometer may have been rolled back...

any how I have found a good deal on a low mileage 3.0 with automatic transmission. My truck is a 2002 with 3.0 non-flex with a automatic transmission. The engine/ tranny combo is from a 2000 ford ranger (the guy said it is a late 2000 if it makes a difference, maybe he is on this forum, didnt ask but he is doin a 5.0 swap)

So will it just bolt right it or are there any major differences? I believe the upper intake on the 2000 is metal vs composite, that is all i know.

not sure if the 3.0's are the same as the 4.0's but if yes then no they wont work unless you changed everything over.. too much time and hassle.

When you say switching everything over, what do you mean?

This person is offering everything, all accessories, computer etc etc. He is swapping out everything for a 5.0 and all 5.0 accessories.

Just wondering what it would take and if its worth it, hes only asking 500 for everything.

if you can get everything, do it. it would all be simple bolt in. especially for that price on a running engine and all accecories! I'd hop on that like stank on dog $#!T

Problem is im not 100% the 2000 engine and transmission is the same..

So far from what I read is that the 2000 rangers had 4 speed automatics and the 2002 all got 5 speed autos, can anyone confirm the engines are the same?
