You've got the right order! Clean first then change, what you should do so you can see the effects of it. Is remove a plug, take a picture of it, reinstall, use the seafoam, remove the plug again and see the difference.

Would it be stupid to seafoam my engine that only has 60,000 miles on it? I'm wondering if it would help because I would imagine my engine to be pretty dirty because i was driving it for a month while it was running REALLY rich and blowing out black smoke. The only reason im considering seafoaming is because im due for an oil change soon.

I only have 65K on mine and although it probably did not NEED it I'm sure I didnt hurt it. I say go for it and you wont regret it. Maybe its all in my head but my truck just feels healthy today

I wouldnt say that necessarily, depending on driving habits, types of fuel, maintenance, and previous owner would all determine that. If you are unsure, inspect the plugs, throttle body, and oil condition if they have heavy carbon deposits or the oil dip stick is varnished you may want to perform a sea foam treatment. Otherwise, just continue with normal routine maintenance. As far as driving with a rich condition, a couple of WOT runs should blow out any possible deposits of un burned fuel, if you are not happy with that you can do a normal fuel treatment by removing the vaccum hose from the booster and allowing it to evacuate a pint of fuel system cleaner. Making sure while you are doing this, that you periodically get the RPMS up to about 4k but not to drop below 1k.

I did the seafoam today by the intake....I do notice a smoother idle and exceleration.

I was very sceptcle and a bit nervous about doing this. I wanted to accualy say that this was nothing more than a hype and people only wanted to see lots of smoke come out of their tail pipe. However the results are positive on my 1994 3.0L 171,00 miles Supercab Ranger.
Along with this good forum, there is lots of information about how to do the Seafoam thing on the internet. Read up on it before you Seafoam. I understand if you don't take the nessasary prcautions your can screw you shit up......

just seafoamed my 3.0 V-6. lotta smoke, maybe a small improvement, but not much.

i used the brake booster line, but looking at where the line enters the manifold, it seems to me that the large majority will be sucked into the rear cylinder or two. thinking of doing it again, further upstream.
