That is odd. My engine coolant reservoir also was empty. There was a leak in the reservoir and I had to have it replaced.

But that shouldn't have anything to do with the AC or the clutch.

I just got the truck back from the garage, so I haven't had a chance to see whether the noise is gone. I'll keep you posted.

The noise is not going to be gone. It's normal. That's what it does. If the noise is gone, that means it is broken or turned off.

Uhh, you what??? There is no coolant tank for the air conditioning. If you mean the coolant tank over on the right side by the washer fluid, that is for the radiator, not the air conditioning.
The anti freeze container . Some one posted earlier that if it was low it would make the clicking sound and mine was empty so I filled it up and the problem was solved. I didn't think it was for the air conditioning i was just following a tip

i think you need to open up your radiator (WHEN COLD!) and see how low it is. If you're getting a clicking sound due to low coolant, that would be the sounds of your engine starting to have a meltdown.

I heard another Ranger doing the A/c Compressor clutch click the other day at a stoplight. It sure was annoying. Every 5 seconds it would click.

That's a problem. It's leaking if it is doing it every 5 seconds.

Yea, the guy had his window up, so I couldn't tell him.

Oh well, he'll figure it out when he looses his A/C.

You don't need to make a video. It's working normal. Every vehicle equipped with AC since the air conditioner was invented has done this. It's perfectly fine. How often it cycles on and off depends on what kind of cooling load it is under.

Your coolant tank and radiator are what you should be focusing on since there is nothing wrong with your AC.
