Default squeaking belt or pulley?

I've got the whole squeaking thing coming from the belt or the pulley. The belt is fairly new and all the pulleys seem to be fine. When i accelerate the squeaking gets louder. Any idea what it could be? have an '02 3.0

are you sure you have the belt on right? they also make some stuff you can get at autozone that you can put on the belt to help it not squeel

yeah, the belt is on right. i changed maybe 3-4 months ago. i've put belt conditioner on it and it only makes it worse. It's weird though, cause it doesn't squeal when its just idling, unless i put belt conditioner on it lol

Its called belt dressing, but another thing you can try is take your belt off and clean the pulleys your old one prob left debris on it.

Cam Synchronizer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop driving your truck and check it out!!!! Could lock up your motor!! ALL 3.0'S HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

Use the search button and find some threads. Here is one i found on replacing it

I thought mine was bad but it wasn't, it was my tensionor pulley but i replaced it anyway. If you need the part (should only use Ford OEM part) let me know i can use my discount for ya

so, i took off the belt and cleaned all the pulleys, weren't that dirty but got it done. Started up and wasn't squeaking. like i saw on another thread, it only seems to do it on cold days. today wasn't one of those days haha ill just wait for it to get cold and see what happens. hope it isn't that cam synch. lol

I recently bought a 99' 2WD ext cab ranger with the 3.0. I encountered the squeaky belt soon after buying it. Here is what I did to fix it:

1: replaced belt with a Duralast belt from autozone. (Still squeaking)

2: Spray the new belt with belt dressing. (Quit squeaking for a few minutes then the squeak became worse than before spraying belt dressing)

3: Removed the belt cleaned the belt with mineral spirits and then washed with soap and water. Cleaned pulleys with mineral spririts and a brush, then rinsed them with accetone. reinstalled Duralast belt. (still squeaking)

4: Replaced idler and tensioner pulleys. Reinstalled Duralast belt (They needed replaced anyway but still squeaking)

5: cleaned pulleys with a die grinder and a wire wheel. Reinstalled Duralast belt (still squeaking)

6: Replaced the Duralast belt with a Dayco belt from Autozone. (Have driven approximately 400miles no squeak so far)

FYI- the temps right now are ranging from 30 F to 10 F
