Yes you gotta get a tuner.

Why do you wanna ref your engine past 3K rpm's in neutral? Do you wanna have it throw a rod?

I have a 1993 Ranger 2.3 5 Speed Stick. It has the limit at 90 and found out passing someone on the interstate. I was in fifth and still had throttle but the stuck acted like it was cutting out. I would like to remove it if possible. Please let me know, can it be done with a tuner even though it is odb 1.

I put in the wrong limit. Mine is 90. I had heard that most are supposed to be 95 and I put that in. Thanks.

This is why I like to say the speed and rev limiter is there to protect you from yourself. And protect the rest of us from you. If you had to go 95mph to pass someone on the highway, clearly they didn't need to be passed. Get off the road.

I'm guessing TurboN2O is the type to be going WOT on a crotch rocket weaving through heavy traffic...

The Posted Speed Limit at this stretch of road was 75 with most traffic running over 85. the state of Arizona has a Prima Facie state speed limit. It allows for speed limit to be adjusted to 85 when conditions allow for it. Like straight roads, low winds and high traffic volume running at those speeds. I was running 86-88 miles per hour and trying to hurry and get around an older truck that was slowing traffic. And 01_ranger_4x4 I am new to this site and if you do not mind where is the correct place to post this? Thank you.

Ok, we messed up here. Most of the country has a max speed limit of 65 or 70 mph. Ignorance on our part allowed us to insert a foot or two. Sorry.

Concerning the governor, I don't remember seeing a post on how to defeat one but that doesn't mean the information isn't here. You might have to run a search looking for it using the search tool. The governors have been mentioned several times since I've joined so I'm guessing you'll be sifting through a lot of threads to find what you are looking for.
