no heat?
my truck is as listed in my signature..
im not getting any heat at all. the gauge stays at C, dont seem to be leaking or losing any coolant. when we first got it it was losing a lot of coolant, but after having it checked out by a family friend whose been working on cars since he was 12, checked out the thermostat and since hasnt lost any. but i was never getting heat to begin with and now its octoer and upstate NY is getting cold, especially the drive to work at 6:30 am and the drive home from college at 9pm

Re: no heat?
Try flushing your heater core, that works wonders when the Tauruses loose heat! Since the Vulcan is all iron and what does iron tend to do? RUST! Rust particles clog up the circulation tof coolant to the heater core.

Re: no heat?
Nothing to do with the heater core. Your thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced. It's cheap and easy. Problem will be solved.

Re: no heat?
Actually, before suggestion are sent out. Does your AC work? Need to make sure you can hear your mode door moving. It could be stuck....

Re: no heat?
That won't have anything to do with it either. He needs to look no further than replacing his thermostat and enjoying the newfound warmth.

Re: no heat?
That's way to vague to be of any help. And your thermostat is still stuck open and needs to be replaced.

So are you saying the AC doesn't work either, or that your truck is not equipped with AC?

If the t-stat is stuck open, the engine will not warm up and therefore you will not have hot water for heat.

Re: no heat?
no AC equipped on truck, and ok just cause everyone else ive spoke with said it would be a clogged heater core.

Re: no heat?
And everyone is skipping the obvious and trying to over-analyze it. Happens a lot. If your fuel gauge read empty and your truck stalled out and wouldn't restart, would you check the oil or put gas in it?

Re: no heat?
replaced the tstat when we last talked about it, still no heat, and the gauge still doesnt move. pretty sure its busted since my spedometer is as well. i think my oil pressure gauge is also on its way out. the lines get hot, but the ones going into the heater core do not, so we think there is some blockage in the core
