There are not "better" plugs or wires available for the truck. Just get the motorcraft ones.

You can go with motorcraft or autolite (who makes motorcraft). I put autolite platinums and omnispark wires in my truck and it runs great!

Why did you bother asking a question, get an answer from 5 people saying the same thing, and then go do the exact opposite??

Anything other than motorcraft or Autolite in a our engines is asking for trouble. To the point where it may not work at all. Bosch and NGK plugs are notorious for failing in our engines. Don't ask why. They just do.

Also, you will not see any gain in performance from spark plugs or wires. If what you had before was totally beat, sure it will bring you back up to stock performance. But you will not get any increase beyond what it did from the factory with spark plugs and wires. Any advertising that tells you otherwise is lying to you.

NGK is a brand. Platinum is a type of metal used in most spark plugs

I notice that Autozone have several types of Autolite. What do you beleive would be the best plug for the 3.0 engine (6 banger)?

Platinium, Iridium, Double Plat...

It's like this, in a ford use motorcraft parts, in a chevy use ac delco, in a dodge use mopar. If motorcraft makes the part just get it. Fuel pumps especially. Fords and chevys don't do well if you try and put an aftermarket pump in them. I did that in my old tahoe and it lasted 2 weeks.
