I used iridium last time and they're working lovely.

That's what I meant. Autolite Iridiums. Honestly, there is probably no difference as long as it meets the specs.

When my spark plugs need replacing, I will likely replace them with e3 plugs....a bit more hp and fuel economy as shown from that Gears TV show.

I got the Bosch Iridium 4 prong plus and I LOVE it they spark a little better and burn the fuel more completely.

really the plug question goes up to what you want out of the plug, if you dont want to change them very often get either iridiums or e3's if you want to get better performance and dont care about changing them more often, get coppers, if you just want a mid range plug, get platinums or double platinums(though i havent seen any research as to why double platinum is any better than just regular platinums) as for wires, just go with whatever, you more or less get what you pay for in that area, i mean if you are looking for performance, then get really good ones, if its just a daily driver get motorcraft or another OEM replacement. (my two cents)

just bought my ranger. it has double platinum plugs. the wires say carquest 8mm. the PO says they were changed "a few years ago" and it hasn't been driven a whole lot the past year. so, I suspect they haven't more than 10-20K on them.

the plugs look fine. how can you tell when wires are needing replacement, other than to wait till it starts running like shit? is there anyway to gauge how wel they are performing without fancy equipment?
