working at a parts store i come into contact with quite a few engines, and i noticed, as many do, that on many 2001-2008 vulcan's the intake manifold is made of plastic. i am considering switching from my metal one to a plastic one if i can find it at a scrapyard. would this be a good idea, bad idea, or just a waste of money. the only problem i can see happening is meltage, because my metal one gets quite hot at times.

i wanna do that and i think it can be done.
why i wanna do it? because plastic ones from a 01 or newer ranger are less restrictive and keep heat out better.
also have removable throttle bodies which i would like to do on mine because i read on rogue performance that a throttle body off a duratec 3.0 escape is bigger and could boost up some mpgs

if you do it you should take every sensor that the manifold has on the new one. and let me know how it works out because i want to do it myself and any tips would be great
