Runs but dies

I drive a 98 ranger ext cab its a 3.0 l. v6 and i cant keep my truck running. when i give it throttle it dies and its burning way rich, it threw a code p0300 which is a multiple miss fire but it makes no sense why it would act like its not getting any gas to stay running please help its my only vehicle and i need to get it running asap thanks

I'm no expert at all, but check to see if the air intake valves on the engine are plugged up. If they don't they ruin the vacuum in your engine and it wont run. There not called air intake valves most likey but thats what I have begun to call them. If there not plugged up you should be able to hear them sucking in air.

With multiple misfire and those symptoms, it almost sounds like your plugs aren't hitting hard enough to burn the gas. Actually, and old prank we used to play was to pull a guys plugs and close the gap almost all the way down. It would start up and run fine, but when you hit the gas it would die.

But on yours, I would check the plugs and wires, then look at the coil pack.
