I have made a few bets with my friends and are wondering if i can take them in a 1/4 mile drag.

My vehicle- 2004 ford ranger edge 3.0L, 5 speed stick. Reg. cab, short box. with synthetic oil, E3 spark plugs

Friends vehicles- 2009 vw city golf, 2.0L stick. with magnaflow muffler (3'')
2005 ford F250 lariat diesel, crew cab 4x4, 6.4L powerstroke turbodiesel v8 (stock)

dont know about the VW but the 6.4 F250 will eat you alive.

i disagree with u all i think his truck will deffly beat the vw... im not too sure about the f250 but it is substancially heavier than the ranger but it does have plenty more power... i raced a 2009 dodge charger srt10 in my 2.3L and gave it a run for its money... not once was he more than maybe a couple feet ahead of me... and everytime i shifted i would pull up ahead of him... he coulda just been terrible at his stick shift in his $40,000+ car tho

Our 06 Beetle with the 2.5 is pretty fast.

The closer of the races would be the VW and Ranger. I still think the VW would take the ranger.
