Need to get the electrical vacuum trouble shooting manuals (wiring diagrams) and splice/modify the 3.0L harness with the 2.9L harness plugs. Not sure when the 3.0L started getting put into Rangers, but if you can find a '90 3.0L harness, that would make life easier. Even a 91-92 would probably work easier than that Gen-III harness, but not real sure about what differences you'll run into. Going to be an interesting swap LOL, I don't think I've read of anyone attempting this.

This is just what a lot do w/ V8 swaps; use the donor harness, match up the wiring from the diagrams, and splice in the plugs and make changes to the harness as necessary. I like to solder and shrink wrap the connections, but it does take some time. I would not recommend using crimps, seen too many electrical problems later down the road using them. Definitely have replaced my fair share of corroded ones. Good luck and it will take a little bit of patience, but you will be a pro with diagnosing wiring problems in your truck once you are done.
