Default "01/ 3.0 Clutch Job Writeup

I know, I know Im asking a age old question, but here is my issue, I bought everything for $380 including the new clutch master, I had my mechanic do it because I had to finish a few arrest reports, I went down to the shop to check on progress, He stated that I should get a rear main seal and that my oil pan was leaking above and that i should change it.

Now I know vehicles and have worked on many, and i many, and really wish that I had time to do the clutch job myself, Anyways when all said and done the cost he charged me was $987.00 work done

1- replace customer clutch kit
2- replace oil pan gasket
3- oil/filter change
4- refill transmission fluid

Why do I fill he overcharged me, I feel like since the tranny was already out, than the oil pan removal was easy access, idk but when you add it up $380 +$987 = $1367 hell thats the cost of replacing the clutch with him buying the parts RIGHT?

IDK I am not that concerned with $$$, but don't like getting screwed, I have already found one problem and that the rod that goes into the clutch master from inside the cab, connecting to the clutch pedal is the old one, and the new one was inside the box, I made sure to check it and take pics, Im a little pissed that the new one was not put on and nowhere to be found.

Conclusion" okay I have vented I guess and will deal with him tomorrow, costing me excess $$$ will cost him in the end, trust me
anyways Have anyone done a clutch job before and WHY their is no writeup on this procedure. Thanks

I re-used my clutch master 'rod' because my straight from Ford replacement master didn't include a new one....

All in all, it's what you get for not wanting to do the work yourself, or being unable to. How long did he have the truck?? Surely it wasn't just an afternoon because I know what's involved with what you had done and well, they gotta make the cheddar to stay in business and you need your vehicle. Get a quote from your local ford dealer and see what the billable hours are for the jobs you had done to the truck. Compare it with what your guy "charged".

The reason there's no write-up: I know I wouldn't waste my time writing one. I learned via a freakin' Chilton's manual when I was 13. lol.
