Default alt. question

does anyone know what alt would fit in my truck that puts out more then 100 amps. my system can pull up to 125 amp and i have to charge my battery every other week. the local alt shop will not rebuild it to put more out. ive got a the 3.0 flex fuel motor if the flexfuel part will matter.

Any advice would help alot

Thanks

Also look into upsizing your battery.
This increase is due to a stereo system?

the battery is brand new and its to big for the truck. my next step is a larger alt. and then adding another battery.

That's how come the draw. Yer killin' your alternator.

But like you I thought that there are rebuild kits that allowed you to step up the output too.

You can do the job yourself if you learn how to stow the brushes and snap 'em in place once you close the housing. That's about the only trick to rebuilding an alternator.

find one from an explorer with the 4.0 sohc motor. they are 130 from the factory. i just bought one for my 95, and it has some minor wiring differences. if your alt has just three wires, should be plug and play.
