Long post? Clearly you've not lurked on here long enough to find any of MY LONG posts...
Anyway.. If you hadn't gone as far to look up the codes;
Code P0174 indicates that there is a lean condition detected by the Engine Control Module (ECM). A lean condition will be created if there is too much air, and not enough fuel, in the air fuel ratio (AFR).
Code P0171 means that, on the first bank of the engine, the fuel system is running weak or a vacuum leak exists near this side of the engine. A lean condition occurs when the engine either receives too little fuel or too much air.
I would perform a fuel pressure test after checking every rubber line or plastic line leading to the intake/fuel system. Take careful measure to check each end and UNDER the hoses or lines..
Also check Voltage at the fuel pump and the Relay output, if its at 12v. but you hear the pump dieing off as or before the truck shuts off, you could have a bad fuel pump.
IF it's the pump, you dont have to spend an arm and a leg and taking a 2nd on a left testicle but dont buy the cheapest thing you can or a brand you or anyone else isn't familiar with. Taking the fuel system apart should be a fix and go another 10-20 years not another repair in a year or two...
