Welp i have the k&n cai. before my exhaust it did nothing but make more noise. no noticable power gain. then i went to the 2 1/2" single in dual out magnaflow and it definitely helped SOME. I get about 3 mpg better than stock now but nothing more power wise. Did notice it helped a ton as far as towing however. definitely doesn't rev as high. just my .02

It is just for the bling factor. i'll admit it lol

"Horsepower gains based on specific or similar vehicle dynamometer test. Results will vary"

This is their "way out".......

CAI only works on high revving engines....the ranger is not....same with air filters...

I DO have the K&N...only because it was time for a new filter..and I like buying one filter, cleaning it, and using it for the life of the vehicle...

but I'm no one to say how someone should spend their money....

You have an advertising gimick that we've already discussed and shot down in this thread. It proves nothing.

ill say this i took the snorkle outta mine and granted it's a 2.9l allot diffrent than all your guy's newer engines, alls it did was make her idle quieter, and give the distictive 2.9l growl from the throttlebody when revved up,but if i changed to a k&N it would be the bling factor n just wash the filter every now n then.

I disagree with all of you about it not increasing performance! it increased my hp by a lot... the first time i drove it i noticed a huge difference! it picks up wayyyy better now that i have the intake in.

We're not poor. Actually quite the opposite. We're just not suckers for that BS that you for some reason have fallen for. I suppose you feel a performance increase when you put 93 octane in the gas tank too right?

from what i have heard and felt, a non stock performance intake does work well. Even without putting 91 octane in it. my buddy has a 4l ranger, 2006 dropped in a k&n intake and i felt the increase!! drive it after he bought it and now, after the k&n filter in. and thats all he has done to it. everyone has their own opinion and personally it works.

Definately go with the cai! I have one and definately noticed an increase of like 15hp! Then, get an exhaust system. I recommend Flowmaster or Magnaflow. You WILL notice a difference in hp and in fuel consumption. You'll burn more gas if you have a lead foot. But if you stay out of it, you will save gas.
