Default Headgaskets

HasAnyone ever done headgaskets on the 3.0l, i was wondering if anybody knew how hard it was to replace them.

Depends on what you're used to, but if you have to ask, it's probably not going to be easy. If you have no idea what you're getting into, I would recommend a Ford shop manual and it will walk you through the job.

I bought one for my Tempo, and I don't know if I would have ever figured out that I could drop the front of the engine down (after removing all of the front accessories, pulleys, & mount) to get the harmonic balancer out of the passenger side wheel well. Ended up being like an 8hr job LOL. There's always a right way to do things that might not always be obvious.

Its not that hard when the engine is out of the truck but i could imagine it being a bitch while its in the truck having to work around all that crap lol.I say get a manual and go at it with some tools. Also make sure you double/triple check everything!

I had spare heads I swapped on so that saved some time. I'm guessing but 6-8 hrs...
