Default can I rebuild my distributor?

hi my distributor makes like a chattering/ chirping sound when cold and i did some looking into it and was told the bearing in it is shot. it doesnt effect how it runs its just annoying. The price of a new distributor is alot so buying new isnt worth it to me.

But can i put a new bearing in it? do you think its worth it? If anybody has done this type of thing i was wondering how much work it is to do it.

also it has a new cap and rotor so those are not the culprits. its a 1991 with 3.0

Thanks
