Is it safe to buy one from these years as long as the heads have been replaced already; and if they haven't been replaced, how expensive of a job is it? Are there any other reliability issues with 04+ 3.0s? I don't know if I will be able to find an 07 or 08 3.0 in my price range of $3-4K. I am looking for trucks with around 125-175K miles. Thanks

Their known for valves to recess. Mine did it at 225,000 but still drove tough. Like a champ. I just got tired off the ticking. So I replaced them with Clearwater cylinder heads for 625.00. Did all the work myself and "Sarge" drives better then it ever has since I've own it(6yrs). Just rebuilt the whole upper end while I was at it. Total cost $1200.00. These motors are almost bullet proof. I think it's worth it. But a shop probably cost ya $3000.00-$4
