Default 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0l Vulcan Cylinder Wall

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT as a project. It has 218,000 on the odometer. Doing the basic stuff and when I scoped cylinder one from the spark plug hole, I noticed some type of build up on the cylinder wall. Is this carbon? Anything pops out from the pictures as possible issues? Very surprised how little carbon on the Piston for the mileage. Thank you for your help!

White carbon along with a pure white spark plug could mean its starting to burn coolant.

Thanks for the feedback. Is that usually the head gasket on these types of motors or does the iron block usually crack?

Head gasket first, over heating will crack a head.
