Default Question on rough idle??

I know that their are several post about this and i have gone through them. All of which have given me a few things to try and clear my issue up.

My question though is this. My wife and i were given this truck by my father in law. PepBoys were quoting out $6500 in work to fix this. stating a cracked block or head gasket. I used K-Seal ST5501 with new coolant. No overheat, no coolant level drop, no leaks showing. So it appears to have worked. IF that was the issue. I am kinda doubtful though. Father in law kept up general maintenance very well on this truck. In the 3.0L 02 how would a cracked block/head gasket present itself issue wise though?

I think the trucks rough idle is either the IAC or MAF which i plan to clean this weekend. Right now in park or at a stop it is rough and feels like it is going to stall. as soon as i give it gas though it evens out, no power loss, or anything.

A cracked block or head, bad head gasket would most likely show up as white smoke from the exhaust, or coolant being pushed from the over flow tank. At that milage on the 3.0, the rough idle could be from bad valve seats, a compression test would tell.

SEE!!!!!!! LOL sorry but it has been somewhat of a debate at my house if i was right or not. I dont think the rough idle is coming from the block/gaskets being cracked. The truck shows none of the signs i have read about.

I have some low cost things i am doing this weekend to see if they help. im running through the easier, less expensive things first to rule them out.
