I currently have a 96 ford ranger 3.0 automatic single cab i bought a 94 ranger 3.0 automatic ext cab wondering if the 94 motor and trans will fit in the 96 or vice versa?

you can use a older transmision on a newer 3.0. But the transmision range sensor on your truck if a 96 has one will have to be put in the neutral position and zip tie it out the way.
I have a 2000 but it's obd2 yours is obd1.I bout my truck someone had put a 93 transmision in it. I drove it for 2 yrs before finally replacing it for the correct one. But yes it will work. I don't know if a 96 has a modulator valve or not .If it doesn't like me you will have to run a vacuum hose from the engine to the tranny.
The only issue I had was I had no overdrive because the 93 overdrive was controlled bye the obd1 computer which I didn't have. But it will work without overdrive depending on your gear ratio It will not like the interstate.Mine has 4:10 gears.

Guys, I hope I'm not gughjacking your thread, but I didn't find a better place to ask this question. I know a 1999 and 2000 3.0 engines can be directly swapped, but how much trouble will I run into putting a '95 3.0 into my 2000 Ranger. Both are automatics. Will I run into issue from intake, injectors, throttle body, etc.
