Default Engine Problems

I have a 2001 Ranger 3.0 V6
I have not had the fuel filter or fuel lines clean since I bought it in 2009 (Very BAD I know)
I went last weekend to get the lines cleaned and filter changed because the Ranger just recently began to hesitate when I applied the gas. Since getting the cleaning done, the Ranger has not stopped hesitating and my check engine light is flashing. Before I drop money on a tune-up, is there something more I should be looking in to?

you should look into a scanner with live data capability.

putting it on a scanner would be the first place to start so you can pull the code and see whats going on. it could be a number of different things from a spark plug, to a fuel pump, to a bad valve you really don't know until you know what the code is thats making the check engine light to come on.

1st Question: How do I move this thread; I donít know how it ended up in this section.
2nd: I scanned the computer and I have three issues. My EGR valve is open or getting to much fuel; my EGR sensor is saying Iím not getting enough fuel. I have a cylinder 3 misfire.
Iíve never changed my plugs and its getting close to 100K miles. (86k right now) So that may be what will fix the misfire.
BUT, how hard is it to get to the spark plugs on a 2001 V6 3.0 Ranger? Should I even bother?
Also, would it be a good idea to start with the EGR sensor (45.99) before the valve (59.99)?
