Default Reviews on a truck?

I'm thinking about buying a 2000 model 4wd Super Cab Ranger, it has 87,000 miles on a V6 3.0 'flex fuel' engine.
What can anyone tell me about this engine or truck?
Is this a lot of miles or low miles?
He says he gets 22 mpg, does that sound right?
It has been well taken care of, in your best estimate how much life would you think it has left?
How does this 3.0 V6 compare to the old Toyota truck V6 3.0 as far as power?
Thanks!

For the year of the truck that's pretty low miles. You might not get 22mpg all day but that's a fair HWY guess. I don't know what the real diff in the "Flex Fuel" is but if the truck is clean and well maintained i would say its still in its "teen years" lots of life left if you take care of it. A lot of guys on here are running with 200k plus which says alot about these trucks. Got any pics?

I have the same exact truck, but with 2wd. I love my truck, and if u treat it right you can get that 22 mpg. I am very light with my truck and get anywhere between20-25 mpg. But i have done every maintenance item possible and drive pretty conservatively. It rides great, pretty good throttle response and I've never had any problems with it, starts every time, even with the original battery in it. lol. I would highly recommend this truck.

I posted some pics of this truck under the General Discussion Forum under my thread entitled 'Switching to a Ranger'.

Agreed with every one that has commented so far.
That is low miles, the MPG's is about right for that year and model Hwy miles.
If you maintain it well, it will treat you right.

I say go for it if you like it, but personally, I would hold out for the far more powerful 4.0 motor
