Default 3.0 trouble

i have a 2000 ford ranger 3.0 5 speed. the motor is shot so i found a 2003 ford ranger auto an changed out the motor now i cant get it to turn over. any help would be awsome.

Can you hear the relay when turning the key? Is the starter getting voltage? Your best bet is to look at one problem and follow it back. It's the easiest way to diagnose a problem when you're stuck.

Also check the timing before you even attempt to turn it over. If your timing is off then you'll destroy those v6 ford engines

yes the starter has power. i traced it to the wire beside the starter ( the small wire that gotes to the key switch doesnt have power

i can just across the starter an it turns over also

So your best bet is gonna be looking at a wiring diagram and chasing ghosts in the electrical system.
