I was told to replace it. I did but the part is not for my engine type. O'Reily looks up my VIN and says that is the part but when I install the part it almost craps up when the engine tries to calibrate, then runs ok for a while. I have the 3.0L FFV V6 engine. Is there a place I can go to make sure I am getting the correct MAS for my 2000 XL Ranger? Help!

I think the FFV and regular 3.0 (and maybe the 4 cylinder) use the same sensor. What's the part number on the sensor they gave you?

I have a 99 ranger xlt and I simply pulled the sensor and with a fine mist and q-tips cleaned it off I learned it on you tube just be careful not to bend anything or move the little diodes that run across the sensor. Mine is getting better fuel mileage now and remember any time you unplug anything that is computerized it needs to be reset with the on board computer in the truck so simply disconnect the battery neg fist for 15 min then replace and do the same with pos side.
