2000 3.0 automatic trans 4x4 help please
My 3.0 ranger is having a problem when I drop it into d it won’t shift out of first gear if I go to 2nd then to d it will shift fine some times but now it’s getting where it won’t shift at all past first I can manually go to 2 or 1 and it work reverse also works

My 2000 has a older tranny in it. And it has a modulator valve on it. If the vacuum hose gets pulled off of it .It wont shift correctly. But I dont think the 4r44e has that. I believe its all controllers by the pcm. Try changing your filter and fluid. If your scan for codes. If theres any transmision related check them.
One more thing is the truck running like it should? A poor running engine wont shift like it should sometimes
