Default rotted dipstick tube

Dipstick tube rotted and broke just under the exhaust manifold. Its now blowing oil at the base. Cannot get it out of the block. I got about 6 inches of old tube left. Is there a rubber O ring seal? I don't think this tube requires one and there is no bolt like the F150 holding it in. Anyone else run into this kind of issue and how did you get the tube out without dropping the oil pan.

Ugh that is tough. I'd start by pulling a viable tube from a salvage yard to get a feel of how tight it is in there. I would try to thread a lag bolt or screw slightly larger than the ID of the tube then pry upward on the screw. Gotta try something you will spew oil on the manifold and catch fire.

If you can't fix it yourself then find a shop that can. Serious safety issue there and Jammanica is correct about fire possibility.

I used vice grips and had to get it to twist first, then just kept twisting while pulling. Had a lot of stuff out of the way at the time so it wasn't too bad.
