Default Bad Head Gaskets, well, Cracked Heads

Well, heard back from the machine shop that both Heads were cracked badly. They were surprised the engine was even able to start and run...

They quoted me $550 for a set of new Heads, ready to bolt on...

I was also able to find a used engine for $650 delivered (used, 30 day warrante. Guaranteed Fuel Pressure).

Need to figure out what Im gonna do sooner than later.

One head was cracked on my 2000 3.0, salvage yard used head was $125.00, still had to have seats put in, also on the other head, so $550.00 for a set of new ready to go heads sounds good.

Check the tom morena racing website by googling 'ford 3.0 performance' they have a bunch of really cool 3.0 parts ranging from adapter plates to mount mustang v6 oem headers to intakes to stroker kits and they offer several different levels of 'HD' heads from stock up to ported/larger valves, etc. They also have a 1.8 roller rocker kit which is supposed to help the 3.0 a lot by adding valve lift without the hassle of a new cam. I am planning on a set of stock HD heads with clean up porting, the mustang headers, and 1.8 rockers when i do my heads. Anyone on herw have any feedback on Morena?

Ive seen the site. There is some interesting stuff there. Ive considered using a set of heads from there, but at over $1k shipped for complete stock heads...

Look again that is the most expensive set with full porting and oversized valves, etc. They have 2 or 3 much less expensive options including one for around 650 and they do a core program. The site is a little confusing. Im leaning towards the 650 set myself.

Ya.. I'm pretty sure. $1k for a complete set of stock heads... The $650 would be a bare set of performance heads... That's just way too high, specially for a rebuild head vs new head..

Please do!!
If I misunderstood their pricing, that would make them viable...

I talked to him. Cheapest are 800, they are Chinese, but do feature hardened valve seats, amd come with a 1 yr unlimited warranty. The search continues
