Default tune up ideas

My 2000 Ranger, 3.0 2 wheel drive extended cab, 181000 miles, needs tune up, what is the best plug for everyday driving, and what wire set should I get for best results.
I see in some sets there is 2 off colored wire's, is this something that
must be looked for. Not original wire's on truck now so cant follow that
line to replace the wires

Go to Auto Zone or your local parts store & get the mid priced plug. Same with the wires. The plugs will last for a couple years / 20 to 30 thousand miles & the wires will last much longer. Really expensive plugs and wires will not give you any noticable improvement.

Don't worry about the color of the wires for any reason than how you want it to look. Most are black or grey but you can pretty it up by using red or blue wires.

When installing just do 1 plug & wire at a time. The wires will be of different lengths so match up the old & new as you replace.

Don't tighten the plugs too much they just need finger tight + 1/2 turn or so. 18 to 20 foot pounds.

They will serve you well.

Default transmission problem??

My 2000 Ranger now with 211,000 miles has developed a tranny??,issue

it is getting rough at times, feel's like it is trying to shift out of overdrive

at highway speeds. transmission serviced last summer, fluid and filter

changed, been perfect up until now . Just returned from 500 mile trip

and it is getting worse. No codes show up when tested. Also motor

seems to be losing power. Any ideas appreciated.

valve body.. prob has some steel filings in it!! you could try jacing up the rear end.. then with the wheels in the air put the truck in reverse and rev it up.. it will reverse flush the valve body!! otherwise gotta drop the valve body from the transmission

So now it turns out NOT tranny problem, have bad valve in number 5 cyl

was going to have motor swapped out rather than spend money on
valve job, seeing that over 111 k on motor, they found my frame badly
rusted and crack in frame also.

Will looking to sell truck in spring. Body and interior "very good condition". Make good project for someone who has good frame
wiil post it in spring as I will be away for winter month's
