Default ghost rev in rpm

5 speed truck and between shifting gears the rpm either holds itself where let off to shift, OR it slowly rises. If I don't shift and let clutch out, it'll drop down like normal after 2-3 seconds. If I shift and release clutch like normal the change in gear will pull the engine down. This ONLY happens with the A/C on, normal driving it's fine if the compressor isn't cycling. I took the IAC off and sprayed contact cleaner in there and it didn't seem to do much. Any thoughts where to start?

Default Re: ghost rev in rpm

It could be a number of things, vacuum leak, worn throttle body return spring, binding throttle cable, and handful of sensors ETC

Lets start by getting some basics from you.

What year is your truck and what engine does it have?

Do you have a check engine light on?

Does the truck have any known stored codes in the computer?

Does the check engine light even work with the Key on engine off?

How many miles are on the truck?
