Just as an aside, I don't think any of the Ranger engines need it benefit from higher than 87 octane.

Did you work out your correct gas mileage yet?

yea but it's still a 3.0 lol

Seriously though I have to agree with many others, I drive 60 on the hwy with a manual trans in my 93' which is a 4.0L mind you and the best I've ever seen is 22.4 MPG in combined city/hwy, while living in moderate city areas to desert/hilly areas of SoCal with 85-100* weather on avg.

Well, you should try your own method and advice and use a higher octane and lower octane for comparison purposes. I consistently get on avg 10-17 MPG more out of a higher octane fuel in comparison and by certain,. NOT all gas stations for that matter either.

Yeah some gas is a bit pants.

I'd question the cost for a tank of premium for only 15 miles more though?

This does make me think of something else; I can feel like a tapping through my accelerator pedal sometimes on regular acceleration and medium revs, I was wondering if it was pinging.

in my case.. 16.3 Gal - tank on Standard Cab/Standard bed.

On vapors this morning:

15 gals at $2.90 premium = $43.50
15 gals at $2.65 Regular = $39.75

$3.75 I would cheat myself.. Call the federal Reserve.. Need to print more money !!!

Lmao.. People pay more for an energy drink or a coffee than that.. HELL, in fact I know people paying to kill themselves for $9.00+ for packs of cigarettes more than a few times a week.

When I smoked at least Winston 100's and Marlboro reds were $ .76 a pack. Then again.. Gas was only $ .86 for premium back then too..

Fuck.. NOW WE should all feel raped and pillaged!

Oh yeah, have watched people have the difference conversation before, for the tank it's really not too much.

Honestly curious if anyone else with a 3.0 can feel like a light tapping on their foot through the gas pedal when they are accelerating?
