You could always raise the bar by using a quality filter such as a WIX, Motorcraft, NAPA gold (WIX) and/or maybe a Bosch. There really is a difference.

For sure.. Cut open your Old "fram" 3600 there DannoBob and then cut open a WIX filter and tell us you'd trust that filter brand on your vehicle anymore.

You can get a Fram 3600 if you want to from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/PH3600-Extra-...ords=fram+3600

Yet you may think twice about getting the Fram after this video

Like you I used Fram filters for more years than I care to remember mainly because it was stocked in many of the shops I worked at over the years.

I was surprised after reading this post and watching a few videos that Fram quality has gone down hill.

I know I cut my fair share of Fram filters apart over the years and I never found one like shown in the video I posted.

( however since the guy already had the filters cut apart at the start of the video who know what element belongs to what brand filter).

Currently I use the K&N filter

IF you still want to be loyal to Fram yet no longer want to purchase their least expensive filter this video may help you decide which one to go with.

Unlike the first video that clearly shows filter element separation which rendered the filter useless.

This video shows more of what I expected to see and witnessed myself when I cut Fram filters apart in the past ( which is an inexpensive filter that will filter the oil )

The First video I am guessing perhaps it was a defect or the guy caused the issue I seen when cutting it apart.

Either way I really do not trust these types of videos when you cant see them cutting the filter open on camera then show a consistent defect on numerous filters.

Any product assembled in mass production is subject to defects in material or assembly yet as you can see in the few videos I posted
there is a clear advantage in choosing a more expensive filter even if you stick with Fram.

To be honest I use the K&N filter because I like the company and do not mind paying extra money to support them to insure they will be around for years to come.

I did not choose the K&N because I thought it was the best filter.

If I wanted the best filtration for my truck I would be running something like a Amsoil bypass filtration setup. along with a good quality off the shelf filter.

^^^ This, with one exception, which is knowing exactly what size particle the filter paper itself can trap (filtration paper able to trap a smaller particle size than another paper is NOT automatically of benefit, and this has been proven to work AGAINST engines using Fram oil filters). It's also possible that the Fram filter element has collapsed internally, which they have been known to do, then you will have had no oil filter at all for unknown miles. In this case you will experience another lesson in Fram oil filters.
