Default Heated PCV valve ?

I just found out my 3.0 has a heated PCV valve.I never heard of a heated one
before. The price of a heated one is about twice as much as a regular one.
$16.00 versus $32.00.I'm doing preventive maintence on my truck.Should i go the cheap rout, and risk CELs or whatever,or buy the correct one ?

Does it really matter heated or non heated ?
see ya,old retired guy

My PVC is the orginal one.

It does matter, but *probably* not quite so much for you since where you are, it's normally warmer than up here and thus, plugging the thing with ice is less likely. Still, I'd pay for the correct one; I can hop online and get a Motorcraft to my front door for about $18 and they only need replacement every 100K miles.

I did a search on ebay; engine was the 4.0 SOHC and it's heated.

I looked on e-bay,the only thing i came up with,was $37 dollars.
Thanks anyway,I think I'll wait awhile, because its running fine.
I tend to get a bit anal about maintence,on my truck, even though some things
don't need replaceing yet. What do you call that "OCD" I think, mabey?

Since your in Florida and want to save some cash, just buy the non heated Motorcraft valve.

I doubt it will trigger a check engine light with it being disconnected.

If it does trigger a check engine light you can always connect the old valve to the harness and zip tie it out of the way.
