Engine squeal while accelerating
hey everyone, I have a question, and I'm posting it here because I've searched everywhere and haven't been able to find an answer. I have a 2007 Ford ranger Sport 4x2 (No A/C, standard tran.) and whenever I shift into third gear and especially 4th, when I start to accelerate, I will get a squeal, and it will persist until I let up on the gas or basically put my foot to the floor. It seems like it's doing it only on a certain area of the accelerator, as I described above. The squeal kinda sounds like somebody doing a burnout on asphalt, but on a MUCH fainter scale. In fact, you can't even hear it when you have the window open or the stereo on. Me and my dad first replaced the serpentine belt, then the alternator, and it is still persisting. Sorry if this is hard to understand, but this is the best I can put it in writing.
