As I was coming home from vaca the other day, for whatever reason I tried to cut the O/D off, and it wouldn't cut off. I tried at several speeds, and even counted the gears until it got into O/D then tried to cut it off, still nothing. It isn't just the light on the dash not coming on but it isn't switching off. Just wanting to know if this is the warning sign of my tranny about to FUBAR..

i wouldent worry about it mine hasent worked for like two years and tranny works fine now if the od light flashes then you got problems

my od works when it wants to and here latley it hasnt worked at all

everything is still working fine, I'm just looking to buy a boat soon and was wondering why it wouldn't go into O/D...looking like the time is now for a 5spd swap since I want one anyways

Yeah that's why I'm worried about it....I can't turn O/D off haha. It's always on.

My 2003 slips when it downshifts from 4 to 3, it also has a harsh up shift from 1 to 2 sometimes. Could all of this be caused by solenoid sticking?

Idk about what exactly would cause that. Mine shifts 100% better now b/c I noticed my reverse lights were out, the fuse was missing and that was one of the Electronic Shift fuses, which also kept it from disengaging o/d

have you tried fixing the OD button? it could just be a bad connection there, those column shifters get banged around quite a bit and the connection could have just gotten knocked loose or gone bad.

If you're referring to me then yes I did. This has been fixed for a few months I just forgot to update it. The fuse was missing that controls the power to the button on the shifter as well as the reverse lights
