Default Troubleshooting and success with an ignition coil

Just wanted to share this in case anyone runs into a similar problem.

Was changing the ignition coil yesterday due to a cylinder misfiring on 04 Ranger. Easy job, just mark the plugs, unplug em, unscrew the piece and switch it out.

Once I started the truck up, not only was it still misfiring, but it was worse, like another cylinder was knocked out.

After some searching and some speculation, I figured the misfiring was from dielectric grease getting on the connecting metal of the wires. I didn't use any when I switched it out, but there was leftover grease pretty heavy on the wires.

Went out and wiped the metal rods inside the spark plug wires clean where they attached to the ignition coil. It solved my problem, truck runs fine now. I didn't find a clear answer when troubleshooting, so I just wanted to put this out there for everyone else.
