Default engine dies out while drivng when cold ....

I have a 2003 XL 3.0 EFI V6. The mileage is 88 thousand. Original owner. My problem is when the engine is cold in the morning once I start the truck (turns over fine) then idles with no problems (not rough) put in gear get half down the street and the engine just dies. I pull over and wait a moment or two and engine starts right up, idles fine, put it in gear no problems the engine does not cut out again. I have new fuel pump and filter replaced at 44 thousand, have replaced wires and spark plugs they have less than 15 thousand on them. Only happens when cold. What is causing the engine to cut off while driving when cold? It seems to be starved for fuel or air when cold. Starts right up and idles, but just when cold once I start driving the engine dies out. Any feedback on the problem with the engine cutting off while driving problem when cold would be appreciated. Thanks

I would clean the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body.

Thanks for the reply. Had to wait for it to get cold outside for the problem to happen again ...... MAFS and throttle body checked out OK along with the IAC. The fuel pump checks out. Could it be ignition coil or the crankshaft sensor causing to cut out when cold ? Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks

Check your positive and ground wires. Had a similar problem. I know it sounds funny but it would only happen when it was nice and cold. After that no problems.

Had the positive and ground wires checked everything was in order. Had a friend check the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) near the manifold with a pressure gauge. PSI was 62. Which acceptable but once the idle dropped down to the normal idle after starting it cold the PSI should come down a few PSI and it did not. The PSI stayed high 62. Per the manual if does not come down at normal idle replace the FPR . Any thoughts on replacing the FPR ? Thanks
