With that mileage, I would do the fan clutch, timing chain and gears.

I would and the one thing I did was change the timing chain. @ 142,000 miles mine had a lot of slop. Made a big diff. on how it ran. Alot smoother idle.

Well I'm going to buy a new water pump, fan clutch, gaskets, timing chain and gears, and a new thermostat (just because) as well as all the gaskets. hopefully this will be the end of the fixing on this truck for a while!

This is going to sound stupid but i can't figure it out. I have dirty coolant and i'm going to need to flush it. Im also going to be changing my oil. all of this when i do the repairs to my timing cover gasket. What do i do first? and what do i have to do in order to really flush my coolant system. Do i just drain the radiator and pull the bottom hose off and get as much as i can out and then put it together and fill it up. and do it again until its clean?
and i do this before i do the cover gasket? or after? and i have to change my oil probably after everything right? I'm having an issue thinking about this for some reason.
