Default help! overheating

I got to work today and i noticed a strong smell of burnt rubber. Popped the hood to see faint smoke comming from near bottom of engine. Temp gauge never went up it looked normal. The radiator is very cold. The hose on top is warm.

right at my last turn to work, started clicking rapidly and loud when i pressed the gas

Well it could be a number of things. Stuck thermostat, Plugged radiator, low coolant, Bad water pump... You really don't want to get the 3.0 that hot to where it's making racket... a coolant problem will just be the beginning of your problems. Burnt rubber may have been your belt riding on a locked up water pump.

It only started literally 1 minute before i got to work, so it wasnt cooking much.

The clicking noise points to water pump correct?

I'm not sure of how much mechanical knowledge you possess, But I would at this time, just completely service the cooling system. You should provide more info in the future though for more accurate advice from what I have found to be, a very informed group of people in this forum. Things like 2WD or 4WD, transmission, mileage, Year, etc. can really help . Hope all turns out well for you.

Ok so apparently the heater hose has been leaking slowly, i just fill up the radiator now and then. The entire hose came off and it was empty, that was the issue.

Got a new T for $6, runs good now. After driving home i noticed the hose is almost off again.

Whats causing the hose to come off?? Ill put some clamps on it and see if it stays, but something tells me theres too much pressure.

Of course you should install the hose with clamps. If the old one didn't have any, that is why it came off. If you think the pressure is to high in the cooling system, check the cap. The radiator cap is the pressure relief valve.

The old one ive read breaks usually on these, there not supposed to come apart at all. I bought a T connector instead of the $100 hose assembly (thats all ford offers)

Yes i clamped it as soon as i got home lol i was in a hurry to get the truck home.

How do i check the cap? See it shoots me in the face?

You can either rent a tool from auto parts store to check the pressure of the cap or just go a pick a new cap up just to play it safe.

If your cap is fine, then no, there was not too much pressure in the system.
