since your problems started with bad fuel remove filter and replace. fuel filters only good for two years. how old is yours? if that does not work have it tested at ford. you can always fix yourself based on test results. there are multiple things that can cause this but fuel system most likely.

A clogged cat or issues with your cat will not cause engine misfires or pinging. It will just cause sluggishness and lack of power. So I have to ask why you are messing with it?
