Default Is this my PCV valve?

I am trying to find a vacuume leak and I would like to inspect my PCV valve and its hose. I think I found it (Under the green and red wire next to my finger). It just lift out without any effort. The hose seems to run under the intake manifold and I cant reach it... Is this the PCV?

No location reference in the photo. It looks like it, if it's on the back (nearest the firewall) of the driver's side or pass side valve cover, that's it.

Yup! Thats it! Do I have to take apart the motor to get the entire hose off? Im soooooo confused as to how to get it off! It actually just lifts right out of its hole so easy. I just cant get to the whole hose.

I located the PCV on my 2000 3.0L V6 FF after a lot of looking and internet research. I can barely touch it with my hand. I can't see it unless I use a mirror and bright light. It is located on the back side of the engine toward the firewall on the driver's side near the three spark plug wires that run around the back of the engine from the distributor to the driver's side spark plugs. It is under a bundle of electric wires that prevent it from coming out easily. I can't get a good grip on it to lift it out. I am going to buy another one, before trying to pull it out again. I am thinking about using some type of hook to pull it up and replace it assuming the hose is long enough to get to it? I am replacing my plugs and plug wires also since it just turned over 100,000 miles.

To follow up on how to change the PCV valve on a 2000 V6 3.0 L FF Ranger? I could find little information regarding this on the site or internet. I located it a few days ago by using a mirror and flashlight, but could not figure out how to replace it. There did not seem to be enough room to operate. Today, I decided to pull the PCV value out of its seat in the engine to determine how long the PCV hose was to ascertain if there was room to work on it with both hands. I determined after removing the valve from its seat that the hose wraps around the Driver's side of the engine and there is enough length to work on it on the side of the engine. You can actually see it rather than just feel for it with your hand. I did not determine where the other end of the hose attachs, because the hose was in good shape and I did not want to risk detaching it at the other end. I just removed the old PVC valve from the hose and put a new one in, then replaced it in the PVC seat on the engine. Once you get the valve out it is easy to do. Hope this information helps others who want to change their PCV.

No you do not sir, to service your PCV, you would need to get a step latter or course that depends on how tall you are, because of it's location you may find yourself in a uncomfortable position to access the area,

Take needle nose or your hand and twist left to right or back and forth and it will come out of the intake, than replace the part and push down enough to get it snugged, One thing that helped me was turn the vehicle on (if it can stay on) This creates a vacuum and helps with holding and pulling the PCV down in place. HOPE THIS HELPS

when you take it out, shake it, if you DONT hear a clicking it definatley needs replaced, otherwise you dont NEED to worry about it, although the fact that it is loose typically means you need a new one, this is not completely true of pcv valves, but changing it is not a bad idea, especially considering that these things are like 3 bucks to replace. besides, if it helps with the seating why not?
