Heater question
Well like many ford ppl I am having the troubled no heat problem I've changed the thermostat , changed the antifreeze verified that the heater actuator is working , the heater flap actuates , burped the system couple times now ... If I leave the truck idle I have heat ... But as soon as I start driving it goes away ... I think it's the heater core but are they any other possibilities

Re: Heater question
No, Don't listen to Ranger Danger 1998
1. If the heater core was clogged it wouldn't be warm at idle.
2. The cold air you are feeling is because of the cold wind going into the radiator.
3. I would check for a stuck thermostat, vacuum leak, or possible blendor malfunction.
Flushing is not needed if it works at idle

Mostly clogged heater core. Can move some coolant through it so it starts to warm. Blow air over it and like a radiator this cools off the coolant traveling through. However, since its mostly clogged, it cant generate much heat and once air blows over for awhile its no longer putting out heat. Makes sense in my mind.
Another possibility is a heater control valve that is clogged or stuck mostly shut, but it seems you addressed that.

I don't know what year your truck is, but if it's post 1998, I recommend doing everything you can to fix before going the swap route. Pulling the heater core is a major pain in the ass.

It's actually post 1994 that is a PITA. 1994 and earlier is a 20 minute job.

Re: Heater question
You first need to determine if the engine is getting to operating temp. About 190F

Yeah it's getting to temp I've flush and bleed the system about 20 times even bought one of those spill proof funnels that connects to the rad so u can watch it bubble out and visually see the thermostat open and suck antifreeze down and burp all of the system

What year is it? You are positive it is getting to operating temp and staying there? Did you use a tstat with a bleeder on it?

Sounds like an air bubble. Did you use a motorcraft tstat or at least one with a bleeder? I am assuming the heat worked fine before the rebuild.
