Default What to do, what to do?

so i just learned the only option i had looked forward to w/ the 3.0 was just put out of business due to lack of business... so now i am drawn to the conclusion of either building my own custom stroker kit and supercharger kit, if anyone has any other options please let me know. I will go ahead and say that the 4.6 or 5.0 v8 swaps are out of the question as i do not want to lose my a/c and this is my daily driver so some semblance of gas mileage would be great. Some people have told me to just swap the motor out for the 4.0 sohc but not sure if i want to do that and just super the 4.0 or keep working on the 3.0

You could go for a turbo 2.3. More HP and probably better mpg than the old 3.0. As far as 3.0 performance goes, the only built up 3.0s ive seen on the web are all ford probes. I guess the engine can make power but its alot of custom work and alot of money for supercharger adapters, stroker kits and such.

thanks so far guys i really don't want to do the turbo 2.3 and i know its alot of custom fab for the sc and strokers but there was a website selling the stroked motor for about 4k and he also had the sc intake for 450 all i had to do was finish the sc kit... i'm thinking i am going to have to lean toward the 4.0 sohc motor simply because it bolts right in and all i might have to change is the wiring harness and computer... if anyone knows someone selling a motor w/ harness and computer let me know how much i would be looking at for that please

The 4.0L will not work. Unless you want to change transmission, transfer case (4x4?) drive lines.

well if i go 4.0 i know i have to change engine trans wiring computer not transfer case cuz its 2wd. and now i think i'm leaning more toward 5.0 tho yeah its a little harder but it would be worth it i think...

You have a bunch of work to do either way. I haven't done this swap myself but from what I have read I think you would be happier with the 302. You can actually "bolt on" a lot of things that give you real performance boosts with the 302 intake, carburetor, headers, etc Not so much so with the v6.
