Default newb needs a bit of advice from you hardened veterans

All right fellas here it is. I hve a 96 ranger 2wd 3.0 liter v6. It just turned 110,000 miles and I would like to keep it for a while as it still runs great. I would like to invest some money into getting the engine and tranny rebuilt. While I am getting that done I want to add a little more power. I am going to end up putting a coilover suspension in the front as well as upgrading the suspension in the rear. About 80 percent of my time is spent on asphalt and 20 percent in dirt. I have a local fella here in San Diego who is going to help me with the suspension part, I am just looking for some solid advice in the other areas. Thank in advance

OK I would replace that cam postioning sensor on the motor. Its a real problem at 100K plus becasue when it fails it sometimes toasts the motor. Very common issue. Google it.
