96 valve lifter retainer interchangeability question

Hey all, I've lurked here for some time but this is my first post. I'm replacing the cam shaft and valve lifters on my 96 Mazda b3000 and I noticed that one of the valve lifter retainers has broken. I'm willing to bet that its related to the lifter tick I was hearing that prompted my to take things apart. Now I need to get a new one of those little metal dog bones and I'm having a hell of a time finding them. The local scrap yard has a 92 Ford Ranger and a 99 Ford Taurus, both 3.0 L pushrod engines that I can pull the needed part from. I was hoping that you guys might have some information about whether or not the lifter retainers from either of those engines might work before I went through all the trouble of disassembling them to get at the dog-bones. So it turns out that the lifter retainers from the 92 are the exact same, in case anybody was curious.
