Default Fuel pump/sending unit replacement

Needing a new pump and sending unit. Seems like my wheelbase is 112" and looks like all I have for options is either an Airtex or a Carter on Rockauto. I've been seeing mixed things about these brands and Don't want to replace it again shortly after. Anyone have any incite on this?

I have an airtex in my truck. Have had it for over a year now, and not a single problem. And my truck doesn't get driven all that much, which is harder on fuel pumps than one's that actually get used on a regular basis. I've only put about 5k miles on it since replacing the pump.

I'm not worried about it, it has a lifetime warranty on it. Only paid like $90 for it too at Autozone, thanks to the commercial guy giving me a discount. It it goes bad in a few years, it's not hard to replace at all. Just unclip the wiring harness for the tail lights at the rear of the truck, pull 6 bolts and slide the bed back a foot, and it's right there. I can change it in 20 minutes.

I just bought a Motorcraft from Amazon for $350, I have the 118" wheelbase which has even less options - my wallet wanted to go aftermarket but there seems to be a lot of complaints for aftermarket. I'm pretty sure I saw a Motorcraft for 112" wheelbase at Rockauto but I'm looking at 2003 year model. If your concerned about the aftermarket brands, keep looking around, check out parts.com or partswebsite.com, that one might have a partner dealership in your area, if they do you can pick up the part for less than usual dealership prices. Good luck.

EDIT: Don't forget to get a fuel pump gasket if you go with Motorcraft, mine didn't come one.
