Not that many people seem to care to mess with this engine. So, consequently, there's not all that much out there for it.

I'm no expert but you can get better gas mileage if you put in a bigger engine. With all the extra power you don't need to rev the engine as much right? Just a thought because I've been thinking about putting a 4.0 in mine. I've heard if you put a lot into them they can smoke hemi's! Never seen it with my own eyes though. But I'm still interested in just sticking with the 3.0 and putting on a few mods. Too bad you cant find parts that easy! Right?

Yea I was thinking it wouldn't be too bad but It is a lot of work!! You have to swap everything!! I'm thinking it might be easier to just chop the back of the explorer and weld on a truck bed!! LOL!!!

Your engine still good? Then worry about the rest of your truck and wait until your engine is done, or you just cant stand the lack of power anymore...then swap it.

Exclamation Re: performance upgrades

A POST SOME LIKE THIS IN OTHER THREAD, BUT HERE IT'S THE COMPLETE IDEA;

MY idea is to get a 2000 ranger ext cab v6 3.0 4x4,and get a superchip and a 1.7:1 roller rockers from morana site and with this maybe a k&n,despite all most people here say's,they are worthless haha, all this not for street runner purpouse but a little off roading and extra hp for highway,by this time my truck it has to be already lifted around 3" with a euzkadi 31x10.5r15 or 32x11.5r15, so i'll love to accomplish this, so any help will be so much appreciated
